Children do not plan when they become sick or injured. SNAC provides prompt assessment for concerns that should not wait for a routine appointment but do not require an emergency department.
We reserve appointments in each clinic session to provide same- or next-clinic access where capacity allows.
Dr Tash has extensive experience assessing children with acute illnesses and injuries. QuickStix focuses on lower-acuity concerns that can be safely assessed and managed in a community clinic.

Emergency
Call 000 now if your child:
✘ is abnormally drowsy, floppy or confused
✘ cannot be woken or is not responding or interacting normally
✘ is struggling to breathe, has stridor at rest, cannot catch their breath or is turning blue or grey
✘ has a seizure for the first time, a seizure lasting more than five minutes, or does not wake after a seizure
Attend an Emergency Department promptly if your child:
✘ is less than three months old with a temperature of 38°C or higher
✘ has significantly laboured or effortful breathing
✘ has mottled, pale, blue or cold skin
✘ has a non-blanching rash that does not disappear when pressed, particularly if they appear unwell or have a fever
✘ has a severe or persistent headache, particularly with neck stiffness or sensitivity to light
✘ has lost consciousness or has repeated vomiting after a head injury
✘ has suddenly become unable to walk without an obvious injury
✘ has not returned to their usual baseline after a seizure

What happens after you request an appointment?
All SNAC requests are reviewed promptly to ensure QuickStix is a safe and appropriate option for your child.
Once you request an appointment, you will usually receive a registration form and triage form within 30 minutes. After these forms are completed and returned, they are reviewed by Dr Tash. We will then contact you if any additional information is needed and provide estimated costs, appointment confirmation, or guidance toward a more suitable service if appropriate.
You may be asked to securely upload photographs as part of the forms if they would assist with the triage process.
Please do not delay seeking emergency care while waiting for your request to be reviewed. If your child appears seriously unwell, call 000 or attend your nearest emergency department immediately.
Need follow-up care after an Emergency Department (ED), Virtual ED, Urgent Care, or hospital visit? Depending on your child's needs, a SNAC or RAP appointment may be the most appropriate option. Every booking is individually reviewed by our team to ensure your child is matched with the right service and receives the most suitable care.
