Rapid Access Paediatrics
Timely assessment for general paediatric medical concerns
Rapid Access Paediatrics provides specialist assessment for newborn checks, well-child reviews and defined general medical concerns that should not require families to wait months for care.
Appointments allow time to hear your child’s story, assess the concern thoroughly and develop a clear, practical management plan. We aim to offer appointments within two weeks for suitable referrals, where capacity allows.
To maintain rapid access, RAP has a defined scope. We do not currently accept referrals for developmental or behavioural assessment, or complex ongoing care. If your child’s needs fall outside our service, our team may be able to suggest alternative local services.

Does your child need more urgent assessment?

If your child may be seriously unwell, call 000 or attend your nearest emergency department.
