Follow-up after ED, Virtual ED or hospital care
Early post-discharge follow-up

Timely paediatric review after your child returns home
Coming home after an emergency department presentation, Virtual ED consultation or hospital admission can leave families with questions. You may be unsure whether your child is recovering as expected, how long to continue treatment or what should happen next.
QuickStix provides timely follow-up for children who need review after recent hospital or emergency care.
What we can help with
Your appointment may include:
reviewing your child's recovery and any ongoing symptoms
reassessing the original concern
reviewing medications and treatment instructions
helping you understand the discharge plan
discussing results or clinical documents you provide
clarifying whether further investigation, referral or follow-up may be needed
providing practical guidance about what to watch for and when to seek further help
What to bring
Please bring or upload any relevant discharge summaries, Virtual ED notes, test results, medication lists, referral letters or other documents from your child’s recent care.
QuickStix may not automatically have access to records held by hospitals or other health services, so providing these documents helps us make the appointment as useful as possible.
Which appointment should I book?
Depending on the reason for follow-up, your child may need either a SNAC or RAP appointment. Choose the closest option in Healthengine and our team will review the booking and contact you if it needs to be changed.
